SpaceStat is the international standard for spatial econometric modeling software.

SpaceStat provides tools for

the construction and manipulation of spatial weights matrices, i.e., data structures that formalize the spatial arrangement of the data and their potential interaction;
exploratory spatial data analysis (ESDA), i.e., techniques to describe and visualize spatial distributions, identify atypical locations (spatial outliers), discover patterns of spatial association (spatial clusters) and suggest different spatial regimes and other forms of spatial non-stationarity;
spatial econometric analysis, i.e., specification tests and estimation methods for regression models that incorporate spatial dependence and spatial heterogeneity.

SpaceStat is Windows® compatible software: it works with all Windows® operating systems, but it has a DOS-like interface.

File formats: text files and shapefiles.

SpaceStat has a downloadable ArcView® 3.1 extension to allow you to exchange data and results with ArcView®.
